- Windows XP [click here] Wireless auto-configuration available in Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 can dynamically select a wireless network to connect to, based upon your preferences or default settings. In most cases, Windows will prompt you letting you know that a wireless network is available – should this not happen, you will need to access the wireless connection settings. To access the wireless connection settings: Go to Start menu and select My Network Places Click on View Network Connections in left column Right click on Wireless Adapter and select Properties Select Wireless Networks tab “CITYWIFI_PUBLIC” should appear under available networks, if you are in range of a Wireless West Palm Beach hotspot. Click on “CITYWIFI_PUBLIC” and select Configure Check “Allow me to connect to the selected wireless network, even though it is not secure.” Click Connect Windows versions prior to Windows XP do not include connectivity functions for wireless networks. Please refer to the documentation provided by your wireless adapter card vendor. If you are using MAC OS X, at the Menu Bar – select the AirPort status icon and choose an available AirPort Network. If you are using MAC OS 9, click on the AirPort Control strip module to activate AirPort and select an available AirPort network. For additional information on AirPort, please visit Apple’s website at http://www.apple.com |
