Originally considered
part of Flamingo Park (it is actually the missing southeast corner
of the otherwise square boundaries of Flamingo Park), the 1920s
neighborhood attracted middle-income residents who bought smaller
houses on the 40- to 50-foot lots. Most of the houses are mission-style.
There are some streets, such as Avon Road between Florida and Georgia
avenues, where every house is mission-style.
